Foundation Activities
The NEC C&C Foundation was established in 1985.
The goal of this foundation is to further develop the electronics industry, and contribute to the development of an economic society and improve social life by encouraging and supporting pioneering and research activities in the merging of information processing and communications technology (Computers and Communications: C&C).
The NEC Foundation of America was established in 1991 by NEC and its American subsidiary with an endowment of $10 million.
The foundation is promoting activities based on its philosophy, "In order to demonstrate the full potential of people, we shall make contributions to society through technological innovation."
The "technological development that helps the handicapped participate in society and support for use of such developments" is the field supported by this foundation, while the foundation makes donations to nationally influential U.S. non-profit organizations.
NEC Foundation, established in the Philippines in 1986, has provided scholarship grants to more than 300 students from public and private schools in the Philippines taking ICT-related courses for over 30 years.
NEC Foundation has continued to help provide quality education to academically deserving and financially challenged Filipino students to attain its goal of providing accessible quality engineering and computer education, which will in turn help the development of the Philippine economy.
