The next episode of the world famous asteroid explorer
Hayabusa2, the asteroid explorer that succeeds the original Hayabusa, aims to explore the origin and evolution of the earth, sea, and life by exploring C-type asteroids rich in water and organic matter, while maintaining and developing the deep space return exploration technology demonstrated by the original Hayabusa.Hayabusa2 was launched from the Tanegashima Space Center on December 3, 2014, and after touching down on the asteroid Ryugu in June 2018, and dropping rovers to explore the surface, succeeded in various observations and returned to Earth at 6th December, 2020(JST).
After the capsule separation, the spacecraft performed trajectory correction maneuvers to depart from the Earth's sphere for extended missions.
