Heritage - Major Japanese Satellites Integrated by NEC

Japan's first satellite, Ohsumi, was successfully launched in 1970. NEC promoted the development of the satellite as a leader of the development team. Since then, NEC has led numerous satellite development projects and is developing about 80 satellites including communications, broadcast, weather, Earth observation, astronomical and scientific observation, and engineering test satellites.
